Press Release: „Recycling Nature” AW23
Berlin, 24.01.2023 – "Recycling Nature" is the motto of the new RAFFAUF collection. From vegan olive leather to wool from certified organic animal husbandry to recycled polyester and recycled wool fabrics: The creative combination of nature and recycling characterises the RAFFAUF collection in Autumn/Winter 2023.
"Until now, our collection was divided into two parts: on the one hand, natural materials, on the other hand, recycling. For the first time, we are now mixing both approaches and recycling not only synthetic materials, but also natural materials," announces designer Caroline Raffauf. Among the new materials is a vegan alternative to conventional leather, made from waste from the olive production. The waste product is not suitable for consumption and is not used by any industry. "Our use of the material is therefore a real benefit for nature," says Raffauf.
Also new to the collection is a purely natural material: special organic cotton woven so tightly that it has a water column. Other sustainable materials that RAFFAUF has already presented in past seasons are found again in this collection: recycled polyester from Italian plastic bottles, recycled wool from pre-loved garments, and organic linen from Belgium.
The designs in the new collection combine clean lines that RAFFAUF is known for, from shawl collars to buttoned cuffs, with new design elements such as reversible jackets, labels attached to the outside, and elasticated hems and pockets.
