Press Release: 30 Years Of Sustainability At RAFFAUF

Berlin, 02.02.2021 RAFFAUF has many millions of employees - and they are all striped in yellow and black.

Caroline Raffauf started her career as a fashion designer for sustainable outerwear with a collection made of organic cotton coated with beeswax. Today, her brand RAFFAUF celebrates its 30th anniversary as a woman-owned family business.

Sustainability is not a temporary fashion for the Berlin brand, but a matter of course. Topics like climate change, zero waste and slow fashion received little attention in the fashion industry of the 90s. Caroline Raffauf wanted to change that. She still remembers a key moment: “The first time I unwrapped a freshly arrived fabric roll, the toxic stench took my breath away. I knew immediately that I didn't want to do this to the environment, nor to the people who would wear my clothes on their skin.” Sustainability without compromise in design was her vision from the very beginning.

Timeless designs and clear lines still characterise the RAFFAUF collections, and the product range has expanded year after year: from jackets coated with natural rubber to coats made from recycled wool and transparent capes made from recycled plastic bottles.
